FAQ

Why not just rely on Shopify's built-in dispute submission?

Left alone, Shopify auto-submits whatever's on file — order and shipping details — on the response deadline. That's a real safety net, and Shopify's own guidance to merchants is to submit manually instead of relying on it, because those basics don't include what actually wins a dispute: what your product page promised the day of the sale, what your policy said, or the purchase context that proves this customer knew exactly who you were. Rebuttal captures that evidence the moment an order comes in — before it's gone — so you're never stuck justifying a chargeback with a template. You review the case and decide what goes out.

What about orders from before I installed?

No order-time evidence exists for them, and Rebuttal won't fabricate it from current data. Disputes on those orders are still tracked with their deadlines, and the evidence package states plainly which sections are unavailable.

Does Rebuttal ever submit or refund anything automatically?

No. Auto-prepare generates documents; only you submit, inside Shopify's own form. Rebuttal has no ability to refund customers and never will.

What disputes does Rebuttal cover?

Card disputes on Shopify Payments. PayPal and buy-now-pay-later disputes run through entirely separate systems and aren't covered in v1.

What data does Rebuttal store, and why?

Order, customer, session, listing, and policy data captured at order time, used for exactly one purpose: assembling dispute evidence. Full details, retention, and deletion behavior are in the privacy policy.

Do you take a cut of recovered funds?

Never. Flat monthly price. 100% of recovered money is yours.

I have no disputes — is it doing anything?

Yes: capturing. The dashboard's "orders under evidence capture" count is the evidence bank building. The best time Rebuttal can start recording is before anything goes wrong — that's the entire point.
