What happens when you install
Rebuttal starts working the moment it's installed. There is nothing to configure. From your next order onward, it captures dispute-relevant evidence automatically: payment verification results (AVS/CVV), the customer's checkout session details, billing and shipping addresses, the product listing exactly as the customer saw it, your store policies in effect that day, and fulfillment tracking as it updates.
Your dashboard shows a running count — "N orders under evidence capture." That number going up is Rebuttal working. You don't need to do anything until a dispute arrives.
One honest limitation
Rebuttal can only capture evidence for orders placed after installation. Orders from before have no order-time snapshot, and Rebuttal will never backfill one from today's data — a listing or policy changed since the sale is exactly what the snapshot exists to guard against. If a pre-install order is disputed, Rebuttal still tracks the dispute and its deadline, and tells you plainly which evidence it doesn't have.
